Jericho Walks

Breaking down the barriers between churches, communities and schools.

At the seventh time, when the priests blew the trumpets, Joshua said to the people,

"Shout, for the Lord has given you the city."  Joshua 5:17

The story of "The Conquest of Jericho" is found in the Bible in the book of Joshua, Chapter 6 and gives us our inspiration for these prayer walks. There is a need for revival within our communities. We must come together to be Kingdom-focused.

Jericho Walks started organically after we embraced the idea that we can do nothing without leaning into God after a tragedy struck one of our local campuses. When a problem comes to you or your family, what is the first thing that you do? You pray. We are called to "pray without ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5:17). In 2019, we held our first Jericho Walk.

One of the biggest challenges that we faced as we developed a plan to systematically cover the county with prayer was that we had all of these great organizations within the communities making efforts "in their own lanes" but they were not working together.

We imagined what it would be like if churches, non-profits, local governments and parachurch organizations collectively worked together. HE would move HIS kingdom in a mighty way.

We started reaching out in an effort to create relationships and our first relationship was made with Moms in Prayer. This led us to CRU and Youth for Christ, and then to lead Pastors and youth Pastors.

The goals of Jericho Walks are simple:

  • Break down the barriers between churches, communities and schools
  • Build relationships that can work together to execute God's will
  • Press into the county with a covering of prayer
  • Develop and multiply groups of prayer warriors who are dedicated to Jesus

Jericho Walks happen the first Saturday of each month throughout the school year.

We encourage you to review the schedule below, come out and walk and pray. If you cannot make it out to a specific school, be creative and walk in your neighborhood or around an specific area that God has placed onto your heart. Break down your personalized prayer walk into the 7 Laps - 7 Prayers format, below.

Meet near the track for a start time of 9:00 a.m.

If you are interested in starting or have any questions about a Jericho Walk for your school, please reach out to Sara at swolf@fca.org. Send us your photos and we will post them to our social media. #jerichowalk #fcajerichowalk
